According to the Plant Protection Department, preparatory work for dragon fruit exports is going smoothly and it is likely that by the end of this year Vietnam’s fresh dragon fruits will be exported to South Korea.
In last August, South Korean experts came to Vietnam to test dragon treatment system, visit dragon fruit-growing areas, dragon preliminary treatment plants in Long An and Tien Giang. Finishing the survey, the Korean experts said the technical parameters of fruit handled by steam are meeting standards.
The experts also said South Korea will soon complete the pest risk analysis and develop standards for Vietnam’s dragon fruit imports toward  lifting the ban on dragon imports.
